According to a survey, 57% of homeowners experience feeling ‘stressed’ when their house is unorganised or cluttered. The survey also found that 91% of homeowners are overwhelmed at least some of the time by the clutter in their home and 29% of mums say their kids are the top barrier to decluttering their home. In Australia, 4 out of 10 survey respondents said they feel anxious, guilty or depressed about the clutter in their home. 16 percent of mums with three or more kids have not allowed them to have friends over because their house was too cluttered. This shows that too much clutter and junk can be stressful and can stop people from enjoying their time at home. People have even built a shed or garage to keep or store their things, or have even moved house to accommodate their excess ‘stuff’!
